Anthropic Embeds Claude Directly into Excel, PowerPoint, and Enterprise Tools
On February 24, 2026, Anthropic announced a major expansion of its Claude Cowork enterprise platform, embedding Claude directly into mainstream workplace tools. The update moves Claude beyond a chat interface into an autonomous agent capable of taking actions within the applications enterprise workers use daily.
Key integrations include Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, and DocuSign, along with 12 new MCP connectors. Claude can now execute cross-app workflows—for instance, analyzing financial data in Excel and automatically generating a PowerPoint presentation from that analysis, without manual intervention between steps.
The announcement also includes a private plugin marketplace for enterprise customers, 10 new department-specific plugins covering HR, Design, Engineering, Financial Analysis, Investment Banking, and more, and a new admin control system called "Customize" that lets administrators fine-tune Claude's behavior. Claude in Excel supports full spreadsheet capabilities including pivot table editing, chart modifications, and conditional formatting.
Both Claude in Excel and Claude in PowerPoint are available in beta for Max, Team, and Enterprise plan subscribers.
