What's New
Anthropic's Claude Platform is now generally available on AWS, giving AWS customers a way to access the full Claude API experience within their existing cloud infrastructure. Unlike Amazon Bedrock, Claude Platform on AWS delivers the native Claude API with AWS as the access layer.
Key Integrations
- AWS IAM Authentication: Access Claude using existing IAM credentials and policies - no separate API keys required.
- CloudTrail Audit Logging: Every Claude API call is logged in CloudTrail, meeting enterprise governance requirements.
- Unified Billing: Claude usage appears on a single AWS invoice and fully retires against existing AWS commitments.
- Day-One Feature Parity: New Claude API features and betas ship on the same day they launch on the native API.
Available Capabilities
Claude Managed Agents, code execution, Skills, and the advisor strategy are all available. Most AWS commercial regions are supported with both global and U.S. inference geography options.
Early Customer Feedback
Early customers including cybersecurity teams and OpenRouter noted that the integration allowed them to stay within existing AWS operational models while accessing Claude's latest capabilities. Particularly useful for teams running Claude Code within AWS IAM constraints.
