8.03% was Boeing $BA’s regular-session gain to $233.49 after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration cleared the 737-7 for commercial service and BNP Paribas raised its rating by two notches, according to Korea Economic Daily. Boeing’s official newsroom release said the FAA granted an amended type certificate for the new 737-7 on August 3, 2026.
The event qualifies as a regulatory action with market impact because the approval removes a certification obstacle from the 737 MAX family. Boeing said preparations are underway to support first deliveries. The 737-7 had been delayed well beyond the original 2019 delivery target after the 737 MAX grounding cycle and subsequent certification scrutiny.
The stock reaction was reinforced by the analyst action. Korea Economic Daily reported BNP Paribas moved Boeing from underperform to outperform and set a $300 target price. The article also cited the analyst’s view that additional MAX-family and 777 certifications over the next year could improve operating visibility. That target is reported market commentary, not a forecast from Insights.
The primary number for investors is not only the one-day move. Boeing’s July 28 second-quarter release showed revenue of $24.6B, driven by 171 commercial deliveries, while the certification news affects future delivery mix and inventory conversion. The next watch item is first customer delivery timing for the 737-7 and the certification path for the larger 737-10.
