Figure AI Humanoids Complete 50-Hour Nonstop Autonomous Package Sorting
Figure AI's Figure 03 humanoid robots completed roughly 50 hours of continuous, uninterrupted package sorting with zero human intervention, the company's CEO announced on May 15. The run sets a new benchmark for sustained autonomous industrial operation.
Helix-02: Fully Onboard Neural Network
The milestone centers on complete autonomy: the robots operated using Helix-02, Figure AI's in-house neural network running entirely onboard each unit -- no cloud compute required during the run. Helix-02 handles visual perception, motion planning, and object manipulation in real time, eliminating the need for remote supervision.
Scaling Production
Figure AI has ramped production of Figure 03 at its BotQ manufacturing facility from one unit per day to one per hour in under four months, with more than 350 robots produced to date.
The broader humanoid industry is also seeing early commercial deployments. Japan Airlines (JAL) deployed two Unitree Robotics-based humanoid platforms at Tokyo's Haneda Airport this month for baggage loading and cabin cleaning at roughly $15,400 per unit.
