Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will end service in mainland China at 11:00 UTC+8 on September 30, 2026. The July 17 r/Games post linked Gematsu’s report on the official notice, which says Tencent and Square Enix have agreed to terminate the licensing arrangement. The planned global version is no longer in development.
The shutdown schedule is specific. In-game top-ups and new user registrations stopped at 18:00 UTC+8 on July 17, 2026. Game operations, servers, and the official website close at 11:00 UTC+8 on September 30. Forums and dedicated customer support close at 11:00 UTC+8 on October 15.
The mobile MMORPG launched first in China on June 19, 2025, with a global release planned for later. That now leaves the China version with a short final operating window and no follow-on international launch. The notice also says account data, character information, and related data for mainland China players will be deleted after the servers close, subject to legal and agreement requirements.
The Reddit reaction focused less on the shutdown notice itself and more on practical alternatives. Commenters pointed out that the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV can be run on some Android setups through tools such as Winlator, GameHub, or GameNative, while others discussed whether controller, keyboard, or touch bindings can handle the PC game’s action bars. That is a workaround for the PC version, not a replacement for an official mobile release.
