SNKがMetal Slug 30thをrebootの起点として提示

SNKはMetal Slug 30th Anniversary siteを公開し、2026.04.19のnews items、special anniversary trailer、series rebootに関する文言を掲載した。ページではoriginal Metal Slugが1996年にarcadeで登場したことを30周年の基準にしている。

要点はMISSION REBOOT sectionだ。SNKはMetal Slug seriesを再始動し、rebootし、new ventures in gamingを含む複数のprojectsを進めるとしている。ただし現時点のsiteにはplatform、release date、個別のgame titleは載っていない。今回のupdateはproduct revealではなく、方向性を示す内容だ。

同じ2026.04.19のnews blockには、official Metal Slug socials、original Metal Slug cartridgeを含むlimited all-white NEO GEO AES+、4月20日以降のmerch campaignも並ぶ。これらはreboot messageを囲むanniversary programの一部と見られる。
