What NVIDIA Announced
In a February 18, 2026 post, NVIDIA described a broad IndiaAI Mission support plan spanning national compute capacity, sovereign model development, and startup ecosystem acceleration. The announcement is positioned around India’s AI Impact Summit in New Delhi and frames the country as a large-scale deployment market where public policy and private AI infrastructure are being coordinated.

Infrastructure: AI Factories and Localized Capacity
NVIDIA said India is expanding AI cloud capacity with systems that include tens of thousands of NVIDIA GPUs. It highlighted partnerships with Yotta, L&T, and E2E Networks to build what it calls next-generation AI factories.
- Yotta’s Shakti Cloud is described as being powered by more than 20,000 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs.
- E2E Networks is building Blackwell-based capacity on its TIR platform with HGX B200 systems, NVIDIA Enterprise software, and Nemotron open models.

NVIDIA’s argument is that domestic model builders, startups, and enterprises need in-country training and inference capacity to develop and deploy AI services at production scale.
Sovereign Models: Nemotron and NeMo Stack Adoption
The company also linked IndiaAI objectives to sovereign model development in local languages and domains. It cited India-specific Nemotron assets, including the Nemotron-Personas-India dataset with 21 million synthetic Indic personas, and described ongoing adoption of NeMo libraries and Nemotron models.
Examples in the post include BharatGen’s 17B-parameter MoE model, Sarvam.ai’s 3B/30B/100B sovereign model training efforts, and Gnani.ai’s speech-focused agentic platform. NVIDIA said Gnani.ai reported a 15x inference cost reduction and supports more than 10 million calls per day after fine-tuning Nemotron Speech components.
Research and Capital Layer
NVIDIA said it is working with ANRF to support AI for Science and Engineering programs through software access and technical mentorship. It also named multiple venture firms, including Peak XV and Accel India, as partners in identifying and funding AI startups. The post states that more than 4,000 Indian AI startups are already part of NVIDIA Inception.
Taken together, the update is less a single product launch and more a coordinated operating strategy: cloud capacity, model tooling, institutional research support, and startup financing are being advanced in parallel to accelerate national AI deployment.
