The game launched at $16.99 and needed an immediate language fix
Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis officially launched on April 24, 2026 at $16.99. Within a day, the developer was already publishing an English-localization response and a Ver. 1.06 update. That speed tells the story. This was not a routine post-launch cleanup. The English script became a visible problem quickly enough that the creator had to address it across the Steam community page almost immediately.
The creator openly acknowledged where the complaints were coming from
In the announcement, creator Fuyuki Hayashi (WHO YOU) said players had raised concerns through Steam reviews, the Community Hub, X, YouTube trailer comments, Discord, and other channels. Hayashi also said the game was developed very quickly and that some English lines still reflected older versions of the Japanese text. That distinction matters. The statement is not describing a few awkward lines. It is describing a production problem where the English version and the latest Japanese writing drifted apart before launch.
Ver. 1.06 is not vague about what changed
The linked Patch Notes Ver.1.0.6 do more than promise future work. They list concrete old-versus-new replacements for English in-game comments and dialogue. Some earlier English lines looked like meme insertions or tonal rewrites that had little to do with the original Japanese phrasing. The patch starts replacing those lines directly, and the announcement also asks players to submit more localization feedback through a dedicated form. In other words, the first repair pass is already live, and the developer is asking the community to keep auditing it.
Reddit's reaction shows how much trust the game has to win back
The r/Games thread sat at 267 points and 238 comments at crawl time. The top reactions were harsh. One comment said the localization looked like a parody of a bad localization. Another argued it went beyond incompetence. That does not mean Ver. 1.06 cannot stabilize the game's English release, but it does mean the patch is fighting a trust problem, not just a typo list. For an indie launch at $16.99, that distinction matters because early Steam word of mouth can set the tone faster than any trailer.
