Spiders said on April 29 that the studio has been liquidated. The shutdown lands six weeks after GreedFall 2: The Dying World launched on March 12 and ends 18 years of operation.

French outlet Origami reported on April 28 that Spiders is expected to enter liquidation after parent company Nacon failed to find a buyer. The report says a court filing is due on Wednesday, putting the GreedFall studio at the edge of shutdown.

Nacon announced on February 25, 2026 that it filed for insolvency and asked the Commercial Court of Lille Métropole to open judicial reorganisation proceedings. The company says it aims to continue operations while restructuring debt and negotiating with creditors.
