Claude Opus 4.7は、名前だけの小さな更新ではない。Anthropicは4月16日の公開資料で、Opus 4.7をClaude製品、Claude API、Amazon Bedrock、Google Cloud Vertex AI、Microsoft Foundryで使えるGAモデルとして投入した。価格はOpus 4.6と同じで、$5 per million input tokens、$25 per million output tokensに据え置かれる。

狙いが最もはっきりしているのはcodingとlong-running agentの領域だ。Anthropicは、Opus 4.7がOpus 4.6よりadvanced software engineeringで強く、複雑なmulti-step taskをより一貫して進め、instructionをより文字通りに扱うとしている。これは既存promptをそのまま放置してよいという意味ではない。前のmodelが曖昧に補っていた指示を新modelが厳密に守る可能性があるため、production利用ではmigration testとprompt re-tuningが必要になる。

Multimodal面の変化も具体的だ。Opus 4.7は画像の長辺で最大2,576 pixels、約3.75 megapixelsまで高いfidelityで処理できる。Anthropicによれば、これは以前のClaude modelより三倍以上の視覚情報に相当する。dense screenshotを読むcomputer-use agent、複雑なdiagramからdataを取り出すworkflow、pixel-levelの参照が必要なUI作業では効きやすい。

Anthropicは、Finance Agent evaluationとGDPval-AAで強い結果を示したこと、file system-based memoryを長いmulti-session作業でよりよく使うことも説明している。周辺updateもagent利用者向けだ。新しいxhigh effort levelはhighとmaxの間でreasoningとlatencyの調整幅を増やし、APIにはpublic betaのtask budgetsが入った。Claude Codeには、変更を深く読みbugやdesign issueを探す/ultrareview commandも加わった。

Cyber capabilityの扱いも今回の重要な点だ。Anthropicは、Mythos級のcyber capabilityを広く出す前に、Opus 4.7でhigh-risk cybersecurity requestを自動検知して遮断するsafeguardを試すとしている。正当なvulnerability research、penetration testing、red-teamingにはCyber Verification Programを用意する。Opus 4.7はcoding agentの性能を上げるだけでなく、強いcyber用途をどう段階的に扱うかの試験にもなっている。
