Anthropic、Project Glasswingで Mythos Preview を defensive cybersecurity に投入

AnthropicはApril 7, 2026にProject Glasswingを発表し、Claude Mythos Previewをdefensive cybersecurity workflowへ投入するindustry coalitionを立ち上げた。launch partnersにはAWS、Apple、Broadcom、Cisco、CrowdStrike、Google、JPMorganChase、The Linux Foundation、Microsoft、NVIDIA、Palo Alto Networksが含まれ、critical softwareを保守する40以上のadditional organizationsにもaccessが広げられる。

Anthropicの主張はかなり強い。unreleased frontier modelであるMythos Previewは、software vulnerabilitiesを見つけ、exploitを組み立てる能力において、最も熟練した人間の一部を除けば上回りうるという。Anthropicは、このmodelがevery major operating systemとweb browserでthousands of high-severity vulnerabilitiesを見つけたと述べた。例として、OpenBSDの27-year-old flaw、FFmpegの16-year-old issue、ordinary user accessからfull machine controlまで到達するLinux kernel vulnerability chainが挙げられている。benchmarkでもCyberGym vulnerability reproductionは83.1%で、Claude Opus 4.6の66.6%を大きく上回った。

Project Glasswingの目的は、こうしたcapabilityがattackersへ広く渡る前に、defender側へ先に配ることにある。AnthropicはMythos Preview usage creditsとしてup to $100 million、さらにopen-source security organizationsへ$4 millionのdirect donationsをcommitした。partnersは自社codebase、core infrastructure、広く使われるopen-source componentsのscanにこのmodelを使い、Anthropicはそこで得た知見をindustryへ共有するとしている。これはAI cyber capabilityを単なるmodel problemではなくcoordination problemとして扱うアプローチだ。

なぜ重要か

この発表は、frontier modelsがexpert-level vulnerability workをはるかに速いautomated cycleへ圧縮できる段階に近づいているという警告でもある。この見立てが正しければ、今後のcyber defenseは検知人材だけでなく、model access、response speed、patch coordinationの競争になる。Project Glasswingはproduct announcementであると同時にpolicy warningでもあり、critical softwareを担う組織にとってAI-assisted cyber defenseが近い将来の必須能力になる可能性を示している。
