Meta acquired robotics AI startup Assured Robot Intelligence (ARI) on May 1, bolstering its push into humanoid technology. Founders Join Superintelligence Labs

ARI's co-founders — Lerrel Pinto and Xiaolong Wang — along with the full team, will join Meta's Superintelligence Labs division. They will work alongside Meta Robotics Studio, an existing team focused on foundational humanoid technology launched last year.

Many AI researchers argue that reaching AGI requires training models through direct interaction in the physical world, not just text and video data.
