Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will launch worldwide on Sep. 17, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam. Falcom and GungHo Online Entertainment announced the date, and Gematsu published platform and edition details on Apr. 17. In the west, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will be sold physically and digitally for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Switch. In Japan, the physical edition is limited to PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. The PC release is via Steam, and Japan's Uroboros Box also includes a Steam key code option.

Japan pre-orders include the original game

Japan pre-orders for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, or Switch include a download code for a high-definition remaster of the original The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Gematsu notes that this bonus is not available for the Steam version. Players with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter clear data can also unlock “Classic Style SC” costumes for Estelle and Joshua.
