Two Major Announcements from Warhorse
Czech developer Warhorse Studios has officially confirmed two simultaneous projects in development. Coming off the massive success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, one of the most acclaimed RPGs of 2025, the studio is wasting no time charting its next chapter.
A Lord of the Rings Open World RPG
The headline announcement is an open-world RPG set in Tolkien's Middle-earth. Warhorse has built its reputation on deeply immersive, historically grounded open worlds, and the prospect of applying that design philosophy to one of fantasy's most beloved settings has generated enormous excitement in the community.
A New Kingdom Come Adventure
The second project is a new entry in the Kingdom Come franchise. The use of the word "adventure" suggests it may take a different form from the previous two mainline titles — potentially a shorter, more focused experience. Community reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with longtime fans relieved that the beloved medieval series isn't being abandoned for the bigger IP.
The announcement accumulated over 2,400 upvotes on r/pcgaming, reflecting the high anticipation for both projects.
