Funding Details and Investors

Apptronik announced a $520 million Series A-X funding round on February 11, with participation from existing investors including B Capital, Google, Mercedes-Benz and PEAK6, and new investors including AT&T Ventures, John Deere and Qatar Investment Authority. The round values the company at $5 billion.

Cumulative Capital Raised

This Series A-X extension follows a $415 million oversubscribed initial Series A raise in 2025, bringing Apptronik's total Series A to over $935 million and total capital raised to nearly $1 billion.

Use of Funds

CEO Jeff Cardenas said Apptronik will use the funding to expand in Austin, Texas, open a new office in California, and scale production of its robots. The funding will also fuel continued innovation in the company's human-centered robot design and support development of a highly anticipated new robot set to debut in 2026.

Apollo Robot and Partnerships

The company's Apollo humanoids are being tested in factories and warehouses with partners Mercedes-Benz and GXO Logistics. The new funding comes after Apptronik locked in a partnership with Google DeepMind and began working with its Gemini Robotics AI models, which underpin Apollo's capabilities.

Market Competition

The funding reflects Apptronik's goal to potentially beat Chinese competitors and Tesla's Optimus to market. Chinese companies currently control 90% of the humanoid robot market, with Unitree selling 5,500 humanoid robots last year, making it the world's top seller. American companies Figure AI, Agility Robotics, and Tesla trail their Chinese rivals by a wide margin, with each selling only around 150 robots.
