구글, Gemini 전용 AI 노트북 'Googlebook' 공개
AI 네이티브 노트북의 등장
구글이 5월 12일 Android Show I/O Edition 2026에서 Googlebook을 공개했다. Android와 ChromeOS를 하나로 합친 새 운영체제 위에 Gemini AI를 전면 탑재한 노트북 카테고리로, 기존 Chromebook과 달리 AI 기능을 하드웨어 설계 단계부터 고려했다.
Magic Pointer와 AI 위젯 생성
핵심 기능인 Magic Pointer는 커서를 화면 위 어디서든 흔들면 Gemini가 문맥에 맞는 제안을 즉시 표시하는 AI 커서다. 'Create Your Widget' 기능을 통해 프롬프트 한 줄로 맞춤형 위젯을 생성하고 Gmail·Calendar 등 Google 앱과 연동하는 개인화 대시보드를 구성할 수 있다. Googlebook은 Android 앱 실행도 지원해 기존 Android 스마트폰과의 원활한 연동을 강조한다.
주요 OEM과 2026년 하반기 출시
Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo가 이미 Googlebook 디바이스를 개발 중이며, 구글은 2026년 하반기 출시를 예고했다. 구글 I/O 2026(5월 19일)에서 추가 세부 사항이 공개될 예정이다.
