IBM, Db2·Cognos·MQ 등 핵심 software 전반에 agentic AI 내장

IBM은 2026년 2월 17일 enterprise가 이미 운영 중인 software 안으로 AI를 직접 넣겠다는 계획을 발표했다. 핵심은 새로운 AI stack으로 고객을 옮기게 하기보다, 데이터베이스, 분석, 메시징, engineering, supply chain, integration 제품 내부에 agentic AI를 심어 운영 단순화, insight 가속, governance 강화를 동시에 노리겠다는 것이다.

이번 발표는 Q1 2026 전체에 걸친 광범위한 rollout 일정도 함께 제시했다. IBM에 따르면 Db2는 3월 5일, Sterling Order Management System은 3월 6일, Cognos Analytics는 3월 12일, MQ는 3월 24일, Cloud Pak for Integration은 3월 25일, Engineering Lifecycle Management는 3월 26일, Sterling B2B Integration SaaS와 App Connect Enterprise는 3월 31일에 각각 새 AI 기능을 순차 도입할 예정이다.

어떤 제품에 어떤 agent가 들어가나

Db2에는 AskDb2, AskDb2 Research Agent, Telemetry Agent, Text to SQL Agent, Change Guard, Spill Guard, Queueing Agent 등 대규모 운영 agent 묶음이 추가된다. Cognos Analytics에는 report 추천, 요약, secure sharing을 담당하는 reporting agent가 들어간다. MQ와 Cloud Pak for Integration에는 Supervisor Agent와 Knowledge Agent를 비롯해 topology, logs, version, 진단 관련 specialized agent가 배치된다.

산업 및 engineering software도 포함된다. Sterling OMS는 order, inventory, cancellation, coupon, contract risk 관련 agent를 담은 Agentic Toolkit Add-On을 도입한다. Engineering Lifecycle Management는 Engineering Workflow Management 안에 Work Item compose agent를 추가한다. Sterling B2B Integration SaaS는 document, event, anomaly 중심 agent를 묶는 InFlight orchestration을 제공하고, App Connect Enterprise는 deployment, topology analysis, flow inspection, knowledge retrieval, resource management용 agent를 추가한다.

이번 발표의 의미

중요한 점은 범위다. IBM은 하나의 assistant를 하나의 제품에 붙이는 수준이 아니라, enterprise가 실제로 데이터를 저장하고, 비즈니스 규칙을 집행하고, 메시지를 라우팅하고, integration을 운영하는 소프트웨어 전반에 domain-specific agent를 퍼뜨리고 있다. 이는 AI를 데모가 아니라 기존 workflow 안의 실무 기능으로 만들겠다는 접근이다.

IBM은 동시에 security, compliance, trust를 강하게 강조한다. 규제가 강한 환경에서는 AI에 대한 관심이 없어서가 아니라, 기존 시스템에 새 automation을 연결할 때 통제를 잃지 않는 것이 가장 큰 과제이기 때문이다. IBM이 2026년 3월 일정대로 이 기능들을 제공한다면, agentic AI는 presentation 자료를 넘어 enterprise 운영 software의 핵심 레이어로 한 단계 더 들어가게 된다.
