OpenAI、Promptfoo買収で Frontier の agent security testing を強化

2026年3月9日、OpenAIはXへの投稿で、AI security platform の Promptfoo を買収する計画を明らかにした。OpenAIはこの動きを、より安全な agent を構築・運用するための enterprise stack である OpenAI Frontier の拡張として説明している。
OpenAIの発表によると、Promptfoo はすでに Fortune 500 の25%以上で AI application security assessment や red teaming に使われている。買収によって OpenAI は、integrated security・safety testing、開発 workflow とのより深い統合、そして agent 運用に必要な oversight・accountability 機能を Frontier に取り込む考えだ。
- Promptfoo の open-source project は現在の license のまま維持される。
- OpenAI は既存顧客への service と support を継続するとしている。
- 取引完了には通常の closing condition が残っている。
この意味は大きい。AI product の重心が単純な chat interface から、web browsing、tool use、code change、production action まで担う agent へ移っているからだ。そうした環境では evaluation は回答品質だけの話ではなく、prompt injection 耐性、tool misuse、data leakage、policy enforcement、継続的な red teaming を含む運用課題になる。
