Vercelは2026年4月8日のX postで、AI Gatewayがteam-wide Zero Data Retention、つまりZDRをサポートしたと発表した。リンク先のproduct postは、multi-model applicationではproviderごとにretention条件、opt-out挙動、compliance defaultが異なるため、policy管理が複雑化すると説明する。Vercelの答えは、そのロジックをgateway側へ移し、teamがproviderごとに個別対応しなくてよいようにすることだ。

Vercelによれば、team-wide ZDRはProとEnterprise team向けで、code変更なしにすべてのrequestへ適用される。AI GatewayはVercelがZDR agreementを結んだproviderだけにroutingし、OpenAI、Anthropic、GoogleなどをZDR対応候補として挙げている。同じ更新ではrequest-level ZDR、明示的なdisallowPromptTraining制御、さらにrouting時にどのproviderが除外されたかを示すresponse metadataも追加された。

この組み合わせが重要なのは、AI platform teamがlatencyやmodel qualityだけでなくcompliance postureでも評価されるようになっているからだ。retentionやtraining制御をinfrastructure policyへ移すことで、model選択はapplication固有のsecurity codeというよりtraffic routingに近い問題になる。今回の発表は、multi-model layerが単なるfailover shimから、なぜあるpromptが特定providerに送られ、別のproviderでは拒否されたのかを説明できるgovernance layerへ進化していることも示している。
