Digital Bros has moved to take direct control of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. The company said on April 27 that it acquired the intellectual property rights to the action RPG, which originally launched on July 24, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. In the same update, Digital Bros said WUCHANG had sold over 1 million units as of March 31, 2026 and generated more than €30 million in revenue.

The strategic point is not hard to read. Digital Bros said owning the IP should improve its ability to make timely decisions on the brand’s future development and related investments. That matters because WUCHANG was already tied closely to 505 Games on the publishing side, but an IP purchase gives the parent company much more room to decide whether it wants ports, updates, spin-offs, or a full sequel without negotiating every next step from scratch.

The Reddit thread immediately jumped past the corporate language and into repair talk. One of the stronger reactions was hope that new ownership could improve performance and restore the original story direction, while other comments brought up censorship-related complaints that had turned off part of the audience after launch. There was also skepticism: buying an IP does not automatically bring back the same creative team or guarantee that a sequel would keep what players liked about the first game.

Still, the headline numbers are concrete. More than 1 million copies sold by March 31 is enough to show that WUCHANG found a real audience, and €30 million-plus revenue gives Digital Bros a straightforward reason to keep the property alive. The real question now is what form that follow-up takes. An IP transfer is easy to announce. Turning it into better support, better optimization, or a credible second project is the harder part.
